Office Assistant

The office assistant (EPIC) is responsible for providing basic front-desk support for clinical intake operations. May be responsible for pre-authorizations and certifications with the exception of surgical procedures.

Education : High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience : 1 year Physician practice office experience preferred.

Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills, strong customer service skills, and ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and thrive in a team work environment; Knowledge of Microsoft Office, database and internet applications;Light, accurate keyboarding skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology; Knowledge of EPIC Ambulatorypreferred.

Provide reception assistance, responsible for patient check in and check out, responsible for collecting co-pay, may be responsible for pre-authorization and referrals, assist patients with any questions regarding insurance coverage, maintain confidentiality.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
